New Appointment – Julia Hale – Associate Director


In my previous article reflecting on the past 10 years running Oyster, I mentioned the need to keep moving the business forward and I am, therefore, thrilled and delighted to announce that Julia Hale has joined Oyster Search and Selection as Associate Director.

Julia will spearhead the development of Oyster’s HR recruitment offering, particularly outside of London, supporting and advising our existing clients with their regional requirements and developing new clients in other sectors. Equally, Julia will be focused on developing her network of talented and experienced HR professionals, acting for and advising them on their next career move.

A true industry professional and Fellow of the Institute of Recruiters (FIRP), Julia has over 25 years’ experience working with exceptional talent across a corporate and high-profile client base. Having co-founded and developed a leading, professional recruitment company over 18 years, Julia subsequently retained her role as MD to help integrate her business following a successful sale in 2015. We’re delighted that Julia has subsequently decided to join Oyster.

Having known Julia for more than 15 years and having collaborated with one another in the past, I know firsthand what an exceptional recruitment professional she is, not least in terms of her unswerving commitment to client service and to best representing candidates in the market place. I also know that Julia shares our commitment to fostering long term relationships with clients and candidates alike and that she has the integrity, professionalism and human touch people tell us that they value about us.

Recruitment Update – Human Resources – August 2018


It’s been a busy few months here at Oyster and we have been working on an interesting cross-section of HR vacancies in the Legal, Professional and Financial Services sectors. Stand-out roles for me have been those newly created (eg. Senior HRBP/HR Projects, Recruitment Manager) and those aimed at the HR Advisor/Junior HRM level for able, ambitious HR professionals looking to take that hard-to-find, step-up. In short, there’s a real sense of dynamism in the market right now and a real opportunity for HR professionals to progress their careers in what is essentially a candidate-driven market.

That’s not to say that securing a new role is easy or straightforward nor without setbacks, so part of our role has been (and will always be) to support, advise, encourage and to instil in to candidates the self-belief, confidence and determination to succeed at interview.
