Welcome to our latest Human Resources recruitment update. It’s fair to say that, notwithstanding uncertainty over Brexit, the economy and global events wider afield, the domestic HR market has been relatively buoyant over the past few months and remains so in the run-up to Christmas and the New Year.

Of particular note, is client interest, across a range of sectors including Legal and Professional Services, Banking and Insurance, in HR specialists with expertise in HR Systems, especially Workday and SuccessFactors. The other, discernable trend is in the need for HR professionals to work on an interim and/or project basis at the £400-600 per day level.

More widely, we are witnessing profound change in the Legal sector as firms continue to consolidate and merge with their competitors here and abroad. A number of clients are also wrestling with the (not unrelated) implications of new technology on their businesses, especially Artificial Intelligence, and about the skill sets employees will need in the future. This includes HR professionals who some clients believe will increasingly need change and project management experience.

Recruitment Update – HR Systems/Payroll – November 2016

 

I’m not sure whether it is something in the water or merely coincidence, but right now a number of our clients in both Legal and Financial Services are looking very carefully at their existing HR and Payroll Systems, with a view to overhauling current provision, domestically and internationally.

High on the list of options for most if not all clients I’ve spoken to is Workday, a Cloud-based HCM and financial management enterprise solution. Whilst most clients are some way off implementing a new system – they are largely at the scoping and selection-end of the spectrum – employers are gearing-up by recruiting HRIS specialists, typically on an interim project basis for periods of up to 12 months and sometimes more.

Recruitment Update – Human Resources – October 2016

 

This is the latest in a series of monthly updates about Human Resources recruitment, with a particular focus on opportunities for HR Specialists.

Speaking with a number of HR Directors in the Professional Services and Financial Services sectors, there is a clear need now and within the next 3 months to December/January for HR specialists with expertise in HRIS, Learning & Development, Recruitment and Employee Relations. The need for language skills, notably French, has also become apparent.
