Whilst there has been a noticeable slow down in recruitment activity over the past three months, scratch beneath the surface and it soon becomes apparent that employers remain cautiously optimistic about the economic outlook and continue to recruit. As we come to the end of April, I thought it might be helpful to provide a bit of an update on HR vacancies amongst our Legal, Professional and Financial Services clients. Speaking with a number of our clients over the past few weeks in the run-up to the financial year end, it seems that several have plans to recruit junior HR professionals in to their respective teams in the months ahead. In particular, there is a real need at the HR Advisor and Senior Adviser levels, together with what I might call, Junior HR Manager/Junior HRBP levels.

Delighted this morning to have hosted the first in an occasional series of roundtable discussions with senior HR professionals in the Legal and Financial Services sectors. Today the focus was on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and, in particular, the impact it is having within organisations in areas such as Recruitment and Resourcing, Learning and Development, Talent Management and OD. There were also broader questions about the role of HR departments in implementing AI in organisations and the extent to which HR departments have the requisite capabilities and, indeed, the capacity to deliver such change.
